Raw Mango Fish Curry


Ingredients:

  • 400 grams of small fish, cleaned
  • 1 cup of chopped onions
  • 3/4 pieces of green chili
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/3 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 raw mango, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup of chopped tomatoes
  • Sugar, to taste
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 2 teaspoons of chopped coriander leaves (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Clean the fish thoroughly and drain the water.
  2. In a pan, mix all the powdered spices, chopped onions, sliced raw mango, and fish. Mix gently with your hands.
  3. Add half a cup of water, cover, and cook on low heat for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. After 15 minutes, add chopped tomatoes, cover, and cook for some more time until the gravy thickens.
  5. Once the gravy thickens, add sugar, green chilies, and chopped coriander leaves. Stir well and let it simmer for a few more minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and serve hot with steamed rice.
